Hi, I’m Jo

I’m a psychotherapist and clinical hypnotherapist based in Peterborough, and I work with women, children, and teens who want to feel calmer, more confident, and more in control of their lives.

My path to becoming a therapist began long before I trained professionally. I spent over a decade working as a teacher, and during that time I became increasingly aware of how many people, children, parents, and colleagues alike, were quietly struggling with stress, anxiety, and self-doubt. I could see that when we feel overwhelmed, we lose sight of our strengths and start to believe we’re stuck. That realisation, combined with my own experiences of parenthood and change, led me to retrain in solution-focused hypnotherapy and psychotherapy.

I’ve now spent more than five years supporting parents, women, and young people through times of challenge and transition, whether that’s coping with anxiety, burnout, low mood, loss, exam stress, or major life changes such as perimenopause, motherhood, or separation.

My approach is gentle but forward looking; we won’t spend endless time unpicking the past, but instead focus on what’s possible and how to move towards it. Together, we’ll build small, meaningful steps towards lasting change. I believe deeply that therapy doesn’t have to feel heavy or clinical; it can feel empowering, insightful, and hopeful.

Outside of my therapy room, I’m happiest walking in nature, spending time with my family, or enjoying a quiet cup of tea after a busy day. These small moments of stillness remind me why I love this work so much, because finding calm, even in the middle of life’s noise, is possible for all of us.

If you’re ready to take that first step towards feeling lighter, calmer, and more like yourself again, I’d love to walk alongside you.

With warmth,
Jo
